First Round speakers for Emergence Creative Festival 2017 have been announced, with the festival set to announce more before the year is out.

The first four speakers span a range of industries and experience, making their way from numerous locations around the globe to Margaret River at the end of March next year.

Matt Eastwood (NYC) – Chief Creative Officer, J Walter Thompson
Described by Britain’s Campaign magazine as a “unicorn” in the communications industry, Matt has overseen some of the most innovative and recognizable creative projects in advertising today. His career has spanned numerous agencies, specialties and countries, including Australia, the UK and US. In 2016, Matt led J. Walter Thompson to a historic year at Cannes, winning a total of 80 Lions – more than the agency had ever won in their 150-year history. He is a highly awarded creative with an international sensibility, living life as a New Yorker.

Jens Hertzum (NZ) – Executive Creative Director, TVNZ
Multi Award-Winning Creative Director Jens Hertzum, has worked agency side, channel side, Europe side, Australasia side and whilst doing all that, has also shot award-winning short films, music clips and written screenplays in his spare time. He has a love of branding, moving images, comic books, sound effects and wants to share his love of the ‘KABOOM’ with anyone who wants to hear it.

Angus Kingsmill (SYD) – Director, Breakfast Epiphanies
Angus Kingsmill is a highly successful CEO, Managing Director, entrepreneur, investor, consultant, board director and advisor to several start-ups. Kingsmill is both a brand creator and re inventor with an impressive background in running both small and medium sized businesses, most recently culminating in the successful reinvigoration and sale of the iconic brand, Mambo. Kingsmill’s ventures currently see him working with businesses such as Marvel, Pixar and NYC based digital media brand Convicts amongst many others.

Rodney Glick (UBUD) – Glick International
Glick is a contemporary artist with a wide-ranging practice, encompassing the fields of furniture design and architecture, film to sculpture and photography to publications. He has exhibited widely across Australia and internationally and has undertaken residencies in Yogyakarta, Kent, New York, Seoul, Taipei and Basel, has had Major Solo Museum Retrospectives in Australia at the MCA in Sydney and has been included in the Contemporary Art Biennials of Sydney, Havana and São Paulo.

Glick has for many years been listed amongst Australia’s top 50 most collectable contemporary artists with artworks in such collections as the Australian National Gallery, Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the New South Wales and Western Australian Art Galleries.

“We pride ourselves on our diverse range of speakers who really get hands-on with the festival and that are more than generous in sharing their time and knowledge with our delegates. We’re excited to bring these fantastic speakers across to Margaret River next year and have more in the pipeline to share with everyone very soon.” Said Festival Chairman Mat Lewis.

Emergence Creative Festival is where renowned creative thinkers share stories and inspire others in creative fields. Thought leaders become a part of the community and work alongside attendees in hands-on workshops, with the aim to create live and collaborate with creatives from all different backgrounds.

All of this happens away from the bustle of life, in beautiful Margaret River. Emergence is loved by every kind of creative – from ad execs and big brand MD’s to emerging and established artists from every industry.
