(TUESDAY AUGUST 29, 2017) Early Bird tickets for the 2018 Emergence Creative Festival and Conference went on sale today, with the festival returning to Margaret River between Wednesday 21 March and Saturday 24 March, 2018.
Each year the festival attracts professionals and emerging creatives from the disciplines of music, film, photography, advertising, gaming, digital and visual arts to Western Australia’s South West to collaborate, create and be inspired, share emerging trends and recent developments in their disciplines and network with creatives from all industries.
Festival Director Erin Molloy said she is looking forward to delivering the Festival’s sixth instalment in 2018.
“We’re excited to share the 2018 lineup over the coming months, starting with the annoucment of the UK’s Ben Akers as our MC, who will be joined by Brisbane-based keynote speaker Kim Allom.”
Ben Akers is the Founder and Creative Director of the behaviour change agency Made With+ and has more than 20 years experience at some of the world’s top ad agencies.
He’s recently written and directed the multi award winning documentary “Slowing Down Fast Fashion” and his works include getting Vanilla Ice to say “sorry” for Virgin Mobile, setting an (unofficial) tweeting World Record for V Australia as well as taking a Hot Potato van around Australia to change Aussies’ opinion of Asylum Seekers for the ASRC.
Kim Allom is an award winning video game developer and self proclaimed ‘Jill of all Trades’ who works as a producer for Brisbane based video game studio Defiant Development and is the co-founder of Blushbox Collective, an initiative that aims to meaningfully explore themes of love, sex and romance in games.
In previous years the Festival has attracted speakers such as PJ Bloom (Neophonic Records, Black Magnetic Music, Music Supervisor on Glee), Russell James (renowned photographer), Christian Van Vuuren (Bondi Hipsters), Mike Rostenstein (Red Hour Films, Ben Stiller’s production company), Adam Spark & Glenn Sarangapany (Birds of Tokyo) among many others.
