New York’s Justin Gignac to join Emergence 2018

(Friday, 15 December, 2017)

Emergence Creative Festival today announced the addition of New York-based Creative Entrepreneur, artist and ex-Creative Director Justin Gignac to their speaker line-up for the 2018 festival held in Margaret River from March 21 – 24.

Justin Gignac is the co-founder of Working Not Working, a curated network of the best creative talent around the globe. After spending the first 12 years of his career as an Art Director and Creative Director at various ad agencies around the United States, he set out to close the gap between creatives and opportunity.

Prior to starting Working Not Working, Justin gained notoriety for his various art projects, including NYC Garbage, Wants for Sale and Needs for Sale.  He also known for helping create the original Elf Yourself!

Emergence Festival Director Erin Molloy said Justin is a great addition to the Festival line-up.

“We’re really excited to have Justin a part of Emergence 2018.  He’s been a part of some really interesting projects over the years and brings with him not only a wealth of knowledge from the creative industries, but also from an entrepreneurial and business aspect.

“He’s a really fitting speaker for our theme for 2018 “Breaking the Mould” which focuses on the fact that we’re beyond disruption now, and we’re seeing more and more creative, totally different ways of not only going about the work we present and products we create, but how it comes about, how it’s consumed, where it’s done, and who is involved,” she said.

Gignac will make his way to Australia for the first time to be a part of the annual Emergence Creative Festival in 2018 to be a keynote speaker at the conference held at Vasse Felix and host a workshop as part of the broader festival.

The three-day festival and conference takes place in the Margaret River Region from Wednesday March 21 through to Saturday March 24 and boasts a program featuring international keynotes, hands-on workshops, intimate colab sessions and out-there satellite events in some of the South West region’s iconic locations.
