HUMANS OF THE MERGE
Mat is the Director of the Creative Tech Village with Edith Cowan University as part of the State Government’s New Industry Fund to foster collaboration and innovation in the state of WA.
Over the last 12 years, Mat has focused on the development of the Creative Sectors within the South West with the establishment of the Emergence Creative Festival, the Creative Corner, as well as co-founding the South West Angels.
Mat was integral in the collaboration and development of festivals such as Strings Attached, Cabin Fever, Margaret River On Tour and the Pinot Picnic.
Anita is a project and event co-ordinator working in the arts, design, travel and tourism industries.
She studied photography and marketing and has worked across all sectors including not-for-profit, private business, local government and her own business. She is currently the Creative Corner Manager in Margaret River and Emergence Creative Festival Director.
Jon brings a huge amount of strategic leadership and energy to the Creative Corner and has been on the board for the last 7 years.
A communications and advertising professional, Jon leads a small but experienced team at bureau42, a marketing agency located in the South West.
Mia has over 15 years of experience as a designer and project manager in design and placemaking within the public realm. Specialising in interpretative design and curatorial planning, Mia has highly developed conceptual and creative skills and extensive experience working in collaborative multidisciplinary team environments.
Her role at Apparatus provides planning, project management, and coordination of Public Art, Cultural Services, and the Percent for Art Scheme.
Sean is the owner of Ovis Creative Productions and works with multiple wineries and local businesses to create digital content for their websites and social media.
With his experience working in the wine and hospitality industries here in Margaret River, together with his film production background and university degree, Sean has an understanding of how to build connections between people and places.
